I am losing this weight loss battle and it is not because I eat too darn much or because I am lazy. It is because I have viewed my body with a whole lot of hostility.To make a positive change do I have to view myself in a negative light? Yes I am overweight. Yes I do eat the wrong stuff and sit too much but am I gonna change it if I am judgemental about my habits? I don't think so. The fact is I need to be more understanding of myself and what motivates my choices. I need to think,dress,and groom myself in a way that says I love and accept myself for who I am right now. If I can do that then won't I be more likely to start healthy practices that will further my love and admiration for myself.
Lose with love.In fact if there is anything you feel you need to change don't view it in a negative light. Change it with love. Acknowledge that there are no perfect people and that the person you are right now is okay. Shoot you brought yourself this far didn't you? Congratulate yourself for a job if not well done then done to the best of your ability at the time. Then grow some more,do some more. Make a change without shame or blame for who you are right now.Lets see if this gives better results.

Juiced
I work at a co-op grocery that has a juice bar. I had not been taking advantage of this resource and I could kick myself because juicing is wonderful!!!!!!! What an easy way to get your veggies. What a healthful way to cleanse your body without depriving it of the nutrients it needs.
I started juicing at work in the last month or two of my pregnancy, it helped with the fatigue, indigestion, and constipation I had at the time. I stopped for a while and now I see how dumb that was. Allow me to sound like a commercial for a moment, juicing gives me energy and helps to control my appetite. It's convenient for me because I can do it at work but I would recommend purchasing a juice machine if you can afford it. I really can't right now but I plan on getting one of those Jack La lane juicers when I have the extra cash.a lot of customers have that one and they say it preforms well and you can''t beat the price. Some industrial juicers can cost more than a thousand dollars!!!!! Used!!!!
Some of my favorite juices are, carrot With beet and celery, Apple with kale and dandelion greens and a little lemon, carrot/apple/ginger. You can do anything you want really and i urge you to try.

Something to try
So ladies I've decided to try an exercise plan that will be easy for me to follow and possibley some of you, I'm calling it the while you weight routine. Basically I will do simple standing ab, leg arm ect routines while I'm doing household chores or watching television. I think it will work if I can remember to do them ha ha!!!! Anyway the first time I tried this I couild feel the burn so I've decided to keep it up. I do a minimum of 15 reps of, for instance, leg lifts or those Tae Boe kicks ( I love Billy Blanks) throughout the day. I figure this way I'm getting a half hour workout at least using the time I'd be standing or sitting around doing nothing. I'm working by buns right now. So dust off your old exercise move and do them while you weight.

Serial Snacker ( Da Da Da Dum )
Yes it's true as it says in the title I snack a whole lot, even sadly, when I'm not really hungry. I know I'm not alone but it has to stop. I've read some stuff on this subject and here are a couple of suggestions.... Eat breakfast. Breakfast jump starts your metabolism but I find I'm also less hungry during the day if I eat a hearty/healthy breakfast. Eat 6 small meals a day. Isn't that what I've been doing?I am a serial snacker after all,right? Wrong! The meals can't consist of cheese cake slices and coffee or toaster strudel and ice cream.for this one maybe we should set our watches and prepare our approved snacks the night before. When you feel a snack attack get something to drink,no not a soda or milkshake, try some hot or iced tea or good old fashioned water. I read in Bob Green's book Make The Connection that thirst can be confused with hunger. Have a cold or hot drink then wait 20 minutes if your still hungry then get a little something (Healthy!!!) to eat.
So that's all for now and pray for me that I can take my own advice:)

Answering the Call (I hope)
Today I read Eves' blog and she said someone should blog about weight and various issues surrounding this loaded subject so I thought why not me? I have struggled with my weight. I've read up on the subject of weight loss so I know a thing or two. I have lost and gained and ultimately I've learned to love myself wherever I'm at.
I should say a few things ..... I am a Black woman and while I welcome any woman who struggles with weight please know that I love my hips, thighs,ect and do not strive to erase them.I believe we should set goals that are healthy,not extreme!!!!!!!!!!! My booty looks big if I'm a 16 or a 6 that's just the way I'm made and like I said before I love my booty. Anyway you'll find that a lot of my comments will be aimed at my AA sistas so if you're not a woman of color don't fret take from this blog what you will.
I plan to research as much as I can on healthy ways to lose weight and keep it off. I'll share recipes with you and because I work in the health and beauty dept. of a Co-op grocery I'll share all I know on supplements you can take to support healthy weight loss. Notice I said support, there is no magic pill so don't believe the hype!!!!
Let me end this by saying that women are remarkable!To my BW a special shout out because I am you. We are under valued in this society and it's time for a change!I love your strength and diverse beauty.I hope all that read this love or will learn to love themselves.I hope I can help in this small way to uplift all of my sistas. We've carried everybody else let us now carry each other.
